Your Conversion Guide for Streaming Audio

Conversion of audio steams can be confusing, but it doesn’t really have to be. It takes knowing exactly what you need and how to use the equipment that you have. You can create streaming audio of your own with even a small desktop mic plugged directly into the back of your computer. This method is adequate for those just getting started with recording, especially if all you need is a few seconds of speech for the first page of your website. As you continue to develop your streaming audio recording skills you may later want to purchase high quality microphones and recording devices. For the team being, however, you may want to use a free software-recording program called Audacity, which exports files to MP3 format. In order to export files to MP3 formant you will need to download software called the LAME encoder. You can search for this download using any Web browser and download it within minutes on most computers. The name of the file that you would reference would be the following: lame_enc.dll. You are advised to be cautious of any file with a .dll extension. However, many people have managed to use this one successfully. You can find many references to the Lame library software on the Web, which can help you use this application. It is a type of file that requires more than one program to open it. The easiest way to access your lame file is to download it onto your desktop. You will not have to do anything to set up this file as you would most other downloads. The only thing you will need to do is extract it because the file will arrive to your computer in a zip folder. From the zip folder you extract it, and that is all you need to do. There is no setup wizard or anything else. Once you have downloaded the Audacity and the Lame software, you will want to start recording, music, spoken introduction or whatever. It may take you a few practice runs before you get the material to sound as good as you would like it to sound. If you are recording a spoken introduction you will want to write down on paper what you would say before you press the record button. You may even want to speak it out loud into the microphone for practice.
